According to DepEd, teachers must accomplish their daily lesson preparations in accordance with the curricular map for the subject being covered. The numerous tasks placed on teachers don’t fully correspond to their available resources, especially the time required to complete these deliverables. Thus, we have released our 1st Quarter Grade 4 Daily Lesson Log | SY 2022 – 2023 DLL to aid with the time-consuming responsibilities of teachers beyond the four walls of the classroom.

Contents organization in Daily Lesson Preparation | Lesson Planning

When planning daily lessons, the material that will be covered must be organized in a way that will support the progression of objectives. A global, disciplinary, or multidisciplinary strategy to content arrangement can be selected. The educational team must complete this assignment and take into account the coherence and continuity of the teaching/learning process, the observation of the psychological traits of pupils, and its effectiveness.

For the first period of primary education, a lesson plan must be chosen, while for the second and third periods, an interdisciplinary organization must be established. At the secondary education level, the curriculum cannot be viewed as a collection of unrelated subjects and disciplines. It needs to be seen as a situation in which related ideas are at play. It is therefore practical to handle it using an interdisciplinary strategy. At this point, it is anticipated that students are familiar with a wide range of features of school and social reality and have studied these topics in separate courses. As a result, the categorization of contents according to disciplines is the best one.

Sequencing of the contents of Lesson Planning.

When utilizing various sequencing patterns, the conceptualization, interpretation, and psychodidactic theories all play a part in the sequencing of the material. various standards for the order of the contents:

Different criteria for the sequencing of contents:

1. Sequencing standards drawn from evolutionary theory. The steps and laws of human development can now be described and interpreted thanks to these theories, which also offer helpful standards for adjusting the abilities of the pupils to whom these theories are directed. Four levels need to be distinguished, according to Piaget’s stage theories:

  • sensorimotor stage (0-18 months),
  • preoperational stage (18 months- 7 years),
  • concrete operations (7-12 years) and
  • formal operations (12 years to advanced). 

Using a broad perspective, these levels or stages might assist in identifying the point at which students have the intellectual capacity to start their learning process. These levels or stages can also be used to select and set the order of the lessons that will be taught. The resolution of school activities, however, not only impacts the logical sequence, but also the prior information that pupils rely on, according to recent research.

2. Sequencing criteria arrived at through task analysis. These ideas are based on an examination of the abilities, action components, and/or cognitive process components that students must master by the conclusion of their learning period. These theories started off with an impressive behaviorism component: the initial objective is broken down into smaller, more manageable achievement goals that eventually give way to learning prioritizations. The student must begin with the less-required skills in order to advance to the various degrees of prioritizing. Nevertheless, the cognitive paradigm has an impact on this procedure, and the information procedural method has enabled us to take different task analysis patterns into consideration.

3. Sequencing criteria derived from the content analysis. These proceedings are employed to create instructional sequences that begin with the material to be taught, namely with its logical and/or psychological structuring. It addresses the application of axis-ideas among the establishment contents sequencing or the prior assumptions that students have about the taught topics.
