3rd Quarter Examination – 3rd Periodical Test Schedule

DATE: April 20 – 21, 2023

According to DepEd Order (DO) No. 8. s. 2015, the Policy Guidelines in Classroom Assessment for the K–12 Basic Education Program, assessment should be used to guide and enhance teaching strategies and advance student learning.

The continuous process of recognizing, compiling, arranging, and analyzing quantitative and qualitative data regarding what students know and are capable of is known as classroom assessment.

In order to inform and enhance their instruction, teachers use formative assessment to gather data on what students already know and are capable of doing. Students are able to take ownership of their learning through this method and see their strengths and areas for improvement thanks to the teacher’s instant feedback.

Summative Assessment is an evaluation that is typically given toward the end of a learning period to determine the degree to which the students have mastered the critical learning competencies. The findings of the assessment are documented and used to describe the student’s progress.

Grading is a method of presenting assessment data by giving the outcomes a value as a record of students’ aptitude, success, or development. Schools must design assessment and grading procedures that may most effectively support student growth and adapt to various circumstances.

When evaluating student learning, teachers must exercise creativity and flexibility while maintaining the standards of high-quality assessment practice. Assessment decisions must be made with the interests of all learners in mind, keeping safety, health, and well-being at the forefront. This means that all assessment activities must:

  1. be in line with the core learning competencies;
  2. be valid, reliable, and transparent;
  3. be fair, inclusive, and equitable;
  4. be feasible and manageable for both students and teachers;
  5. provide students with a variety of ways to demonstrate their learning; and
  6. provide timely and accurate information.
