The Philippines faces renewed scrutiny over the state of its education system as it once again falls below the global average in the latest Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) results. The report, released recently has stirred concerns among policymakers, educators and the public alike regarding the effectiveness of the country’s educational strategies. The 2022 PISA rankings which evaluate the reading, mathematics and science skills of 15-year-old students placed the Philippines at 77th out of 81 participating countries and economies.
