What Makes a Good Lesson Presentation?

A teacher must possess certain fundamental lesson presentation abilities in order to properly introduce new content to their students. These are:

  • Voice. When you wish to highlight anything, speak clearly, firmly, and with a range of volume and pitch. Ensure that everyone in the class can hear you, but avoid shouting or speaking in a way that makes you sound mad.
  • Tone. Students frequently mix up voice with tone. Tone is the emotion that comes through in a person’s voice and demeanor. Your students will feel more at ease if you speak in a tone that is warm and confident rather than one that is egocentric or harsh.
  • Vocabulary. As much as possible, avoid using lingo or obscure terminology unless you are certain that your students will comprehend them. Take the time to describe any technical phrases and lingo you need to introduce to your students.
  • Humor. The students’ environment can be made more relaxed by a teacher with a great sense of humor. It has been proven that using humor in the classroom can liven up dry subject and aid to dispel the notion that the instructor is in charge and the students are beneath them. Humor taken too far might be harmful. You want the participants to see that you are serious about your work so they will be as well. Never use humor to hurl insults to one of the students.
  • Body language It is common knowledge that students react favorably to teachers who walk around the classroom and are relatively active. There is no comfort in the classroom when the teacher spends the entire day sitting at their computer or standing at the board. On the other hand, it’s not a good idea to invade on a student’s personal space. When students are working on exercises, you might want to try instructing from the back of the classroom so you can easily detect if anyone is experiencing difficulties without making them bring attention to themselves. As you approach a workstation, ask the kids how is it going to avoid frightening them.
