2nd Quarter Grade 1 Matatag DLL Daily Lesson Log | SY 2024 – 2025

The Daily Lesson Log (DLL) is a valuable tool for teachers designed to simplify lesson planning. It offers a clear and easy-to-follow format that helps teachers organize their daily or weekly lessons effectively. DepEd Club is committed in supporting this by providing updated DLL templates every week for free such as these 2nd Quarter Grade 1 Matatag DLL Daily Lesson Log | SY 2024 – 2025 . These templates align with the Department of Education’s (DepEd) standards ensuring that teachers in public schools follow consistent and effective lesson planning.

DepEd’s guidelines encourage teachers to create lesson plans that address the needs of their students, particularly those in the K to 12 curriculum. By following these guidelines, teachers can enhance the quality of their lessons making them more relevant to their students’ needs. Furthermore, these guidelines promote reflection among teachers, encouraging them to assess their teaching methods regularly. This reflection helps them continually improve their lessons.

In addition to the DLL, the MATATAG curriculum has introduced changes to improve education for Grade 1 students. This curriculum focuses on developing literacy and numeracy skills through five key learning areas: Language, Reading and Literacy and Makabansa. The curriculum simplifies the previous seven learning areas, concentrating more on foundational skills.

The Language area focuses on enhancing oral language skills in the student’s first language, a critical step in building literacy. Recognizing the over 180 languages spoken across the country, the curriculum emphasizes the importance of learning in the first language, allowing children to develop a solid foundation for further learning.

The Reading and Literacy area aims to teach students the basics of reading. It develops phonemic awareness, decoding skills and the recognition of sight words. Additionally, it introduces reading comprehension strategies, helping students understand and engage with texts more effectively.

Makabansa, a new subject for Grades 1-3, aims to provide students with personal and cultural awareness. This subject covers civics, history, art, culture and health, helping students build a strong foundation in these areas.

The MATATAG curriculum aims to streamline teaching and improve student learning outcomes. By providing teachers with clear guidelines and updated resources, these initiatives ensure that lesson planning becomes easier and more effective, contributing to a better learning environment for students.
