What is a Daily Lesson Log (DLL)?

The Daily Lesson Log (DLL) is a valuable template for teachers to record their daily lessons. It can cover lessons for either a day or a week. At DepEd Club, we upload new DLL files weekly. To access the latest DLLs, regularly visit our website.

The Department of Education (DepEd) introduced guidelines for preparing Daily Lesson Logs to standardize instructional planning. This planning is essential for effective teaching and learning in public schools. These guidelines help teachers organize and manage K to 12 classrooms in a way that meets students’ needs.

The DLL guidelines encourage teachers to reflect on their teaching methods. This reflective practice is a crucial part of a teacher’s role, as it helps improve the quality of lessons. Well-prepared lessons are vital for delivering high-quality education.

According to DepEd guidelines, teachers with at least one year of teaching experience, including those from private schools or higher education institutions, are not required to create a Detailed Lesson Plan (DLP). Instead, these experienced teachers should complete a weekly K-12 DLL. This change helps streamline lesson preparation while ensuring that teachers still plan effectively.

Teachers are encouraged to collaborate when preparing DLLs. Experienced teachers can also guide newer colleagues in creating these logs. This mentorship ensures that all teachers, regardless of their experience level, can effectively use the DLL to enhance their teaching.

Daily Lesson Log is a crucial tool for teachers to plan and reflect on their instruction. By following these guidelines, teachers can improve their lesson planning and contribute to a more responsive and effective learning environment.
