On July 9, 2024, the Department of Education (DepEd) released DepEd Memorandum No. 033, s. 2024 about the Brigada Eskwela for the school year 2024-2025.

The Brigada Eskwela will be held from July 22-27, 2024, to get schools ready for the new school year starting on July 29, 2024. This follows the guidelines from DepEd Order No. 003, s. 2024 (Implementing Guidelines on the School Calendar and Activities for the School Year 2023-2024).

Brigada Eskwela is a nationwide program where everyone in the community helps clean and fix schools before classes start. For six days, parents, alumni, local businesses, organizations and even teachers and students volunteer to do clean-ups and repairs in schools.

This year’s Brigada Eskwela has the theme “Bayanihan Para sa Matatag na Paaralan” and will follow the guidelines from DO 021, s. 2023 – Brigada Eskwela Implementing Guidelines.

The main event will kick off on July 17, 2024, at Carmen National High School in Cebu Province and it will be streamed live on DepEd’s Facebook page. Regional offices and local divisions can hold their own activities to promote Brigada Eskwela.

Schools and communities will be informed about Brigada Eskwela and local divisions are encouraged to train school heads on how to implement the program.
