At DepEd Teachers’ Club, we are dedicated to helping teachers create unique and engaging lessons that connect with students’ understanding and usability. We continuously upload available resource files, like our Week 1 – Quarter 1 Matatag DLL Daily Lesson Logs | July 29 – August 2, 2024 files. These resources include many pre-prepared materials that help teachers plan meaningful and relevant lessons for their diverse students.

Our goal is to bridge the gap between teaching and learning by offering a collection of DepEd educational resources. These resources make it easier for teachers to integrate relevant knowledge into their lessons. By using our pre-made files, teachers can add materials to their courses that match each student’s learning preferences and interests while also addressing different needs and skill levels.

Decongested Curriculum

A recent review found that the current curriculum is overcrowded, making it hard for students to fully understand various concepts. To fix this, the curriculum has been reduced by 70%, with a focus on essential subjects like English, Filipino, Science, Mathematics, and Technical Livelihood Education (TLE). This decongestion aims to enhance students’ learning experiences by giving them more time to grasp foundational elements and focus deeply on each subject. The result is a more targeted, effective and meaningful learning process.

The Department of Education (DepEd) maintains its vision of producing well-rounded Filipino learners equipped with 21st-century skills. These skills include knowledge, attitudes and competencies needed for success in modern life and work. The improved 21st-century skills framework integrates various international and local standards to redefine education, skill development and training in our changing society and economy.

DepEd’s core values—“Maka-Diyos, Makatao, Makakalikasan, Makabansa”—are central to this vision. By fostering these values, learners can achieve their aspirations and contribute to a progressive, united and sustainable nation. The 21st-century skills framework guides all levels of DepEd governance, ensuring these skills are integrated into education. The framework promotes a shared vocabulary and clear communication, aiding in consistent implementation across the board.

The framework outlines four main domains: Information, Media, and Technology Skills; Learning and Innovation Skills; Communication Skills; and Life and Career Skills. It provides clear descriptions of the skills, competencies, values, and attributes students should develop in each domain. Filipino learners are expected to develop these 21st-century skills along with foundational literacy, numeracy and specific discipline skills like scientific literacy.

This approach aims to equip Filipino learners with the tools they need for future success. By focusing on essential learning areas and integrating a comprehensive skills framework, DepEd ensures that students are well-prepared to meet the demands of the 21st century.
