The Kindergarten Quarter 2 Learning Activity Sheets (LAS) guide young learners through the second stage of the academic year. At this point, children begin to show greater confidence, independence and readiness to engage in structured learning tasks. To support this development, the LAS provide age-appropriate, competency-based activities aligned with the DepEd MATATAG Curriculum, ensuring that lessons are purposeful, meaningful and developmentally suited for early learners.
These activity sheets serve as structured tools that connect classroom instruction with at-home practice. They help teachers maintain lesson consistency while enabling parents to reinforce foundational skills in literacy, numeracy, values education and creativity. By combining guided play with structured tasks, the Kindergarten Quarter 2 Learning Activity Sheets make early education both enjoyable and academically sound.
Coverage of Subjects in the Kindergarten Quarter 2 LAS
- Literacy, Language, and Communication. Children strengthen their alphabet knowledge, letter sounds, and basic word recognition. Worksheets develop early reading readiness by guiding learners to identify familiar sounds, arrange story sequences and name days of the week and months of the year. These activities build print awareness and communication skills essential for later literacy.
- Mathematics. Quarter 2 worksheets introduce classifying objects by attributes such as shape, size, and color, creating simple patterns, and exploring positional concepts like left, right, over, and under. Learners also practice early measurement using familiar classroom items. These hands-on activities lay the foundation for logical thinking and problem-solving.
- Makabansa and GMRC (Good Manners and Right Conduct). Activity sheets highlight the theme Exploring Our Community. Children learn about community helpers, transportation, and school rules, while practicing honesty, respect, and responsibility through guided coloring, drawing, and situational activities. This fosters both civic awareness and values formation.
- Physical and Natural Environment. Learners begin observing weather patterns, properties of everyday objects, and environmental sounds. Tasks may involve matching suitable clothing to sunny or rainy weather or identifying familiar sounds at home and school. These activities nurture curiosity, environmental awareness, and scientific observation skills.
- Aesthetic and Creative Development. Worksheets encourage creativity through drawing community helpers, arranging patterns with shapes, or creating simple artworks from local materials. These activities enhance fine motor skills, imagination, and self-expression—key aspects of holistic Kindergarten education.
The Kindergarten Quarter 2 Learning Activity Sheets are designed not as drills but as learning companions that build confidence, creativity and a love for discovery. By aligning structured activities with joyful experiences, they support the holistic development of every child in the early years of formal education.

Effective Use of Kindergarten Learning Activity Sheets
To maximize the benefits of the LAS, teachers and parents are encouraged to:
- Adapt to learner pace – Some pupils finish tracing or coloring quickly, while others need more time. The LAS provide flexibility to accommodate different learning speeds.
- Blend with play – Worksheets should be paired with playful, real-life applications, such as shape scavenger hunts or counting toys.
- Use as formative tools – LAS can help identify readiness before quizzes, performance tasks, or new lessons.
- Maintain engagement – Add creativity through colors, storytelling, or interactive games to make the worksheets more enjoyable.
