The Grade 8 Daily Lesson Log Quarter 2 (DLL) is a comprehensive instructional framework that supports teachers in structuring effective lesson delivery. At this stage of secondary education, students are expected to demonstrate higher-order thinking, problem-solving and the ability to apply knowledge to complex and practical situations. The DLL ensures that lessons are carefully sequenced and fully aligned with the DepEd MATATAG Curriculum promoting a balance of academic rigor, creativity, collaboration and values formation.

The DLL functions as a roadmap that integrates learning objectives across all subject areas. Covering Weeks 1 to 8, it allows teachers to plan systematically manage instructional time and deliver content that is contextually relevant and developmentally appropriate for Grade 8 learners.

The DLL ensures that learning tasks ranging from straightforward drills in solving equations to more advanced activities like conducting science experiments, writing critical essays, or analyzing social issues are scaffolded appropriately to support mastery.

  • In English 8 DLL Quarter 2, lessons focus on analyzing both literary and informational texts, evaluating the techniques used by authors and producing multimodal outputs such as essays, speeches and presentations. These activities strengthen learners’ communication and critical-thinking skills.
