An effective assessment plan is the end goal of the assessment design process. This plan can range from an official document to a casual departmental schedule. It outlines goals for student learning, expected outcomes and methods for evaluating student progress such as these GRADE 7 Matatag – 1st Periodical Tests with TOS | SY 2024 – 2025 . In secondary schools, Assessment of Learning is predominant. Teachers design and grade these tests, focusing on measuring the amount and quality of student work. The majority of teachers’ assessment time is spent on marking and grading. This approach emphasizes comparing students and often provides feedback only in the form of grades or marks without detailed guidance for improvement.

These assessments reveal which students are excelling and which are struggling. However, because test content is often limited and scoring is straightforward, these assessments may not accurately reflect the full range of skills and knowledge. Consequently, they might not provide a complete picture of a student’s mastery of specific concepts.
