The Grade 5 Daily Lesson Log Quarter 2 (DLL) is a vital instructional framework that supports teachers in delivering lessons aligned with the DepEd MATATAG Curriculum. At this stage, learners are expected to demonstrate higher-order thinking skills, apply mathematical and scientific concepts to everyday contexts and participate actively in meaningful discussions. The DLL ensures that competencies are systematically covered while giving teachers structured flexibility to contextualize lessons based on learners’ needs and classroom realities.
By Quarter 2, Grade 5 students are challenged to go beyond foundational knowledge. Lessons are designed to promote analysis, application and synthesis, bridging classroom instruction with real-life situations. The DLL functions as a roadmap for teaching that is academically rigorous, developmentally appropriate and relevant to both the learner and the community.
Overview of Grade 5 Daily Lesson Log Quarter 2
The Grade 5 DLL Quarter 2 covers all core learning areas ensuring that academic progression and values formation are balanced across subjects:
- English 5 DLL Quarter 2. Learners refine reading comprehension and applied literacy by analyzing story elements, evaluating informational texts and practicing structured oral and written communication.
- Filipino 5 DLL Quarter 2. Lessons develop deeper comprehension, vocabulary and composition skills while fostering appreciation for Filipino culture and literature through narrative and informational texts.
- Mathematics 5 DLL Quarter 2. Topics focus on fractions, decimals, measurement and geometry. Lessons highlight problem-solving in contextual scenarios such as budgeting, measurement in daily activities and interpreting real-world data.
- Science 5 DLL Quarter 2. Learners explore matter, energy, ecosystems and environmental awareness through observation, investigations and collaborative scientific discussions, strengthening inquiry-based learning.
- Araling Panlipunan 5 DLL Quarter 2. Focused on Philippine geography, history, and citizenship, lessons aim to build civic awareness, national identity and responsible community participation.
- EPP 5 DLL Quarter 2. Learners acquire practical life skills in home economics, livelihood, agriculture and ICT, enabling them to apply classroom knowledge to functional and entrepreneurial contexts.
- MAPEH 5 DLL Quarter 2. This area nurtures creativity and holistic development through music, arts, physical education and health, promoting both self-expression and physical well-being.
- GMRC 5 DLL Quarter 2. Values formation is emphasized through lessons that highlight empathy, responsibility and respect, ensuring that character development is integrated into academic life.
