Overview of Grade 3 Quarter 3 Week 2 Learning Activity Sheets
The Learning Activity Sheets (LAS) provide pupils with structured and engaging tasks that reinforce essential academic and character-building skills. These worksheets support the MATATAG Curriculum’s goal of creating resilient, values-driven and competent learners. During this week, with the Grade 3 Quarter 3 Week 2 Learning Activity Sheets, learners continue to strengthen foundational literacy and numeracy while developing civic awareness, environmental responsibility and appreciation of Filipino identity.
Each LAS is designed to promote independent learning through contextualized lessons and real-life applications. Activities across subjects from English and Filipino to Math, Science, Makabansa and GMRC help pupils apply classroom knowledge to everyday life, fostering critical thinking and moral growth.
Assessment Objectives for Each Subject
English 3. Learners explore Philippine myths such as “How the Tinguian Learned to Plant” and “The Origin of Rice.” They identify story elements, sequence events and form compound sentences using conjunctions like and, but, and because. The week also introduces bar graph interpretation and vocabulary development through root and base words, connecting literacy with comprehension and analytical skills.
Filipino 3. Through the fable “Ang Kabayo at ang Kalabaw,” pupils enhance reading comprehension and moral reflection. They identify character traits, cause-and-effect relationships and the story’s lesson about compassion and empathy, emphasizing pagmamalasakit sa kapwa as a core Filipino value.
Mathematics 3. The focus is on interpreting and constructing bar graphs using different scales. Learners compare data sets, solve real-life problems and understand how varying intervals affect graph appearance. Activities include representing collections, reading data and drawing conclusions, strengthening data literacy and problem-solving.
Science 3. Pupils perform experiments on factors affecting the movement of objects, shape, weight and surface texture and practice describing positions using reference points. These hands-on tasks develop inquiry skills, observation accuracy and understanding of motion and force through guided investigations.
Makabansa 3. Lessons center on “Ang Aking Pagkakakilanlan bilang Pilipino” and “Pagtatanggol sa Karangalan ng Bansa.” Learners express national pride, respect the Philippine flag and reflect on civic duties that uphold the nation’s dignity. Activities integrate self-awareness and responsible citizenship.
GMRC 3. The week’s theme emphasizes pagmamalasakit sa tahanan at pamayanan. Learners write short reflections, evaluate daily behaviors, and role-play scenarios that promote empathy, honesty, and cooperation at home and in school. These character-forming lessons align with MATATAG’s focus on moral and social development.

How to Effectively Use the Grade 3 Worksheets
Teachers can integrate these LAS into daily lessons or as enrichment and assessment tools. Each activity follows the “guided to independent learning” approach starting with reading or exploration, followed by comprehension, reflection and application.
Parents are encouraged to provide a quiet study space and guide children through reading instructions, allowing pupils to reason and express answers independently. Teachers may also use these LAS for formative assessment to track mastery and readiness for upcoming summative evaluations.
