The Grade 1 Quarter 2 Week 5 Daily Lesson Logs (DLLs) provide structured guidance for teachers to deliver clear and engaging lessons aligned with the MATATAG Curriculum. These materials ensure that learning across Mathematics, Language, GMRC, Reading and Literacy and Makabansa is consistent and developmentally appropriate for young learners.
Lessons inside Grade 1 Quarter 2 Week 5 Daily Lesson Log
Mathematics. This week’s mathematics lessons guide learners in mastering addition of numbers with sums up to 100. Activities focus on expressing numbers in tens and ones, adding two-digit numbers with or without a one-digit number and solving simple problems through concrete models. The approach strengthens place value understanding and builds fluency in basic operations.
Language. Language lessons highlight vocabulary expansion and sentence construction. Learners practice using high-frequency words related to school, retelling events with time signal words and expressing cause and effect. They also begin recording and reporting their experiences which encourages clear communication and confidence in speaking.
GMRC. Values formation is centered on prayer and family life. Learners understand the significance of family prayer, recognize its role in strengthening unity and share personal ways of participating. These activities nurture spiritual growth and highlight the importance of faith and cooperation in everyday life.
Reading and Literacy. Reading and literacy focus on phonics, vocabulary and comprehension. Learners practice isolating and substituting sounds, reading high-frequency and content-specific words and comprehending stories by noting details, sequencing events and inferring character traits. Story-based tasks also connect reading to personal experiences and moral lessons.
Makabansa. Makabansa lessons emphasize the roles and responsibilities of family members. Learners identify duties of parents, children and other relatives then illustrate these through creative outputs like drawings. These activities promote appreciation of family contributions and encourage responsibility at home.
The Grade 1 Quarter 2 Weekly Daily Lesson Log ensures that teachers have a clear roadmap for delivering lessons that integrate academic knowledge and values. With carefully designed activities, it supports effective lesson planning and strengthens teaching strategies across core subject areas.
