Starting at 12:00 P.M.
To allow government employees time to observe All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day traditions and facilitate travel across regions, Malacañang has announced a half-day work suspension on October 31, 2024. Work in government offices and classes at all levels will be suspended starting at 12:00 p.m. on that day, according to Memorandum Circular No. 67, issued by Executive Secretary Lucas P. Bersamin on October 22, 2024.
This move aims to promote domestic tourism and give employees sufficient time to prepare for these important cultural observances. However, government agencies involved in essential services such as health, disaster response and other critical operations will continue to function and provide necessary services.
For private companies and schools, the decision to suspend work and classes remains at the discretion of their respective management. The circular emphasizes that this advisory only applies to government institutions while private entities can make their own arrangements. The memorandum takes effect immediately, ensuring ample notice for those affected.
