Grade 7 3rd Quarter Lesson Exemplars (LE) Compilation | SY 2025–2026

What to Expect in Grade 7 Quarter 3 Lesson Exemplars

The Grade 7 Quarter 3 Lesson Exemplars under the MATATAG Curriculum focus on deepening both academic mastery and character formation. Throughout the quarter, lessons are designed to promote critical thinking, nationalism, creativity and responsibility. Students engage in inquiry-based and values-anchored learning experiences that integrate language, science, mathematics, social studies and the arts. The overall goal is to develop learners who are competent, compassionate and culturally grounded and able to connect classroom lessons to real-life applications and civic engagement.

By the end of the quarter, students are expected to:

  • Read and interpret literary and informational texts with historical and cultural depth;
  • Apply mathematical reasoning and data analysis to daily situations;
  • Explain physical phenomena through experimentation and investigation;
  • Analyze historical and civic issues in Asia and the Philippines;
  • Demonstrate productivity, creativity, and ethical judgment in technical and artistic tasks; and
  • Exhibit values of honesty, cooperation, and respect in school and community life.

Grade 7 Quarter 3 Key Learning Areas and Focus

English and Filipino build strong communication skills through journalistic, expository and literary analysis. Students write summaries, critiques and newsletters while learning responsible media use. Classic works such as Florante at Laura, Urbana at Feliza and Ang Ningning at ang Liwanag help them understand moral lessons and cultural perspectives.

Araling Panlipunan (AP) explores nationalism and post-colonial Southeast Asia. Topics include the Bandung Conference, independence movements and challenges to unity and peace. Learners evaluate these events to relate them to present-day citizenship and regional cooperation.

Science covers forces, motion and heat transfer. Students investigate balanced and unbalanced forces, plot motion graphs and perform experiments on conduction, convection and radiation. These hands-on tasks build inquiry skills and appreciation for science in everyday life.

Mathematics focuses on quantitative reasoning and operations with integers. Learners solve problems involving addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percent, ratio and order of operations (GEMDAS). Activities such as canteen pricing, fare computation and budgeting apply computation to authentic contexts using the Authentic Computation Appearance Standard, which presents vertical, notebook-style solutions.

EPP/TLE (Edukasyong Pantahanan at Pangkabuhayan/Technology and Livelihood Education) enhances entrepreneurial and practical skills. Students learn safety, productivity and basic food preparation or tourism tasks that promote self-reliance and creativity.

MAPEH (Music, Arts, PE & Health) nurtures creativity, wellness, and cultural pride. Music and Arts analyze nationalistic art and post-war expressions, applying Feldman’s or DAIJ critique models. PE and Health promote fitness and nutrition through Pinggang Pinoy guides, BMI checks, folk dances such as Habanera Botolena and wellness reflections.

Values Education ties all learning areas together by emphasizing empathy, honesty, service, environmental care and respect for diversity. Learners write reflections, create advocacy posters, and participate in community projects that foster the MATATAG traits of Makatao, Matatag and Mapanuring Pagkatuto.

Grade 7 Teaching and Learning Procedures

Lessons throughout the quarter follow a structured yet flexible flow:

  • Activation of Prior Knowledge – quick reviews, diagnostic games, or “Pair & Recall” warm-ups link old and new concepts.
  • Lesson Development – guided discovery, simulations, multimedia presentations and cooperative tasks ensure deeper understanding.
  • Application and Practice – contextual performance tasks such as science experiments, math problem-solving and art creation connect knowledge to daily life.
  • Generalization and Reflection – students share insights through journals, discussions, or creative outputs linking academics to values.

This consistent model promotes independent learning, collaboration, and higher-order thinking.
