This week’s learning journey focuses on sharpening essential reading and comprehension skills while connecting them to practical experiences. Learners practice identifying significant details in informational texts, recognizing discourse markers and using descriptive words to express ideas. They also strengthen their ability to analyze natural events, apply cultural values, solve mathematical problems involving subtraction up to four digits and explore the interdependence of living and nonliving things. Alongside these, children engage with lessons on family traditions, cultural identity and obedience as an important Filipino value. The Grade 3 2nd Quarter Weekly Daily Lesson Log provides well-structured plans that guide teachers in delivering clear and organized lessons across key learning areas. In English, learners engage with informational texts such as descriptions of the snake plant and coconut tree where they highlight important details, apply basic science terminologies and compose short descriptive paragraphs. Filipino lessons enhance comprehension through news articles and environmental reports that allow learners to extract key details, identify problems and solutions and respond through short written reflections.
Values Education emphasizes obedience and respect within the family where children recognize and practice traditional Filipino customs such as pagmamano and cooperative behavior.
