The Department of Education’s (DepEd) poor planning resulted to the damage of P25.21 million worth of textbooks, according to a government audit report. In its 2017 report released over the weekend, the Commission on Audit (COA) found that 820,682 printed textbooks were left inside printing press Lexicon Press, Inc. because DepEd’s own warehouse failed to store it. Last August 3, 2018, the DBM approved the creation of 1,310 positions for SPED Teacher I, with Salary Grade 14, or a total annual compensation of PhP 455,839.
